Pros

Cons

  • The temperature reading is influenced by the room temperature and is off by 2-8 degrees.
  • When the unit starts chilling the water, the temperature reading climbs by 4 degrees while the water temperature is dropping
  • The end result is the water is chilled 6+ degrees than the intended temperature and since the deviation of the entire errors is between 6 and 8 degrees, the temperature swing of the water is the same and the unit runs for a couple hours each time it turns on. I used an external AC controller and now my variance is 2 degrees with 35-40 minute run times.
  • You will need a 1/2″ to 3/8″ connector to use this with a pond pump.
